Many congratulations to Lower Sixth Strathearn student Rebekah Devlin, who yesterday progressed to the final stage of a prestigious UK-wide singing competition, the BBC Young Chorister of the Year. Rebekah gave a stunning performance of ‘He will hold me fast’ by Matt Merker, in a special arrangement made for Rebekah by leading local musician Jonathan Rea. The competition final, filmed in Salisbury Cathedral, will be broadcast on BBC1 on Sunday 5 December. Rebekah has also been shortlisted for the heats of a local vocal competition, the BBC NI School Soloist of the Year. We are very proud of Rebekah’s success and look forward to her forthcoming performances.
