On Saturday 12th June 2021, P7 pupils and their parents were informed of their post-primary placement for September 2021. We very much look forward to welcoming our new Form 1 intake.
However, we know that there will be many families who will be disappointed at not having gained admission to their first choice school.
In Strathearn, we applied our non-academic published criteria in the order set out in our Admissions Criteria for entry in September 2021, as published in January by the EA. We processed 224 applications in total for 120 places.
We were able to admit all pupils as far as criterion (d) - (‘Girls who are the eldest child of the family to be eligible for admission in September 2021’ as a single consideration), after which tie break distance criterion was applied (see below), with the last distance admitted being 2.718km.
(‘If more than one girl is eligible for the final place, priority will be given to the girl whose home is closer to the School. Distance will be measured in a straight line using an Ordnance Survey web distance measurement tool from the front door of the girl’s home to the front entrance of the School’s main administrative building. Home will be taken to mean the girl’s address appearing at the commencement of the Transfer Application Form.’)
If you have applied to Strathearn School as part of the process but did not receive a place, you are automatically allocated to our waiting list.
We appreciate that this has been an extremely challenging year for both pupils and their families and we do hope this information is helpful.
We wish your daughters the very best for the future and hope they quickly settle into their new school.
