Tavisha Sood participated in the Northern Ireland final of the Soroptimist International Public Speaking Competition, which was held at the weekend in Hillsborough. Tavisha spoke about the challenges her generation face, and delivered a good-humoured extempore speech on whether or not she would push the ‘red button’. The standard was fiercely high and the judges had a difficult job to choose between the twelve girls who spoke with poise and passion on a range of topics. Well done to Tavisha for making it to the final. She was awarded a certificate and a gift in recognition of her achievement. The competition represents an excellent opportunity to meet pupils from across the province and to develop all-important presentation skills.
