Today, the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Nuala McAllister, visited Strathearn School. The Lord Mayor participated in a question and answer session with sixth form politics students. Topics as diverse as what makes Belfast a welcoming and inclusive city, how to break the current deadlock at Stormont and what it’s like being a young woman in politics made for a lively discussion. Pupils enjoyed the chance to speak directly to an elected representative and the Lord Mayor responded thoughtfully to some of the issues that the pupils raised, making this a valuable visit for all concerned.
