Strathearn Pupils Participate in Special Titanic Project
Today 48 Strathearn pupils received copies of Nicola Pierce’s book, Spirit of the Titanic, in advance of an exciting event next week. Pupils will meet Nicola, and hear more about the Titanic in this project, sponsored by Book Trust and the Belfast Harbour Commissioner’s Office. This will take place in the historic setting of the Belfast Harbour Office on the bank of the River Lagan. Today 2S and 2T enjoyed a Fronter workshop led by Education Authority Librarian Kathy Dunseath, which introduced them to a creative writing competition in which all the pupils will be participating. Strathearn is one of four Belfast schools that will be participating in this special event. Nicola will announce the winners of the competition when the pupils meet her next week, so watch this space!
