Well done to all the girls who competed at the Irish Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Sligo on Saturday. After an early start and long journey Strathearn’s 4 teams took on the best runners in Ireland. All our athletes were not available to travel but we did have 4 teams competing and therefore got special mention throughout the day as being the only school to be represented at all 4 age groups which is a fantastic achievement in itself. It was a tough course despite the beautiful backdrop of Benbulbin in the background.
The Minor girls of Eve McKibbin, Rebecca Burrows and Chloe Browne were placed 11th overall. The Junior team of Murphy Miller, Harriet Platt, Aimee Stitt, Freya Axten, Rhiannon Brady and Grace Ruding were 7th with Murphy finishing a very commendable 10th place individually. The Intermediate team of Olivia Nelson, Katie Wills, Ruby Baxter and Alex Reilly finished 9th with Olivia being placed 9th individually. The Senior team of Sarah Brown, Jessica Leeman and Hannah Craig also finished 9th.
