Hard luck to the 1st XI who were narrowly defeated by Royal School Armagh in the 2nd round of the Senior Schools’ Cup on Wednesday . The girls played with purpose from the whistle and competed with Armagh all over the pitch in the first half. Unfortunately a lapse of concentration and missed tackles led to an Armagh goal just minutes before half time. This did not dampen our spirits in fact it lifted them and the team went out all guns blazing in the second half and did everything they possibly could to bring the game back on level terms. They put pressure on Armagh right to the final whistle, finishing with a flurry of near misses in the dying minutes. However we did not put the ball in the goal and that’s what determines who moves through to the next round of the competition. So well done and good luck to Armagh in the 3rd Round of the Cup as Strathearn set their sights on a successful run in the Plate competition. Well played girls!
