Congratulations to the 2 ‘A’ XI who won a local derby match against Bloomfield Collegiate in the 2nd Round of the McDowell Cup on Tuesday. A very competitive match where both teams played some skilful hockey but following a decisive drive from the right back Ailie McKinty mid-way through the first half the ball travelled across the circle for Bonnie Ramsay to knock into the goal. Strathearn’s defence had to withstand some pressure at times but also had a few near misses in our attacking end in the second half. The scored remained 1 nil to Strathearn and the team will go on to play either Lagan College or Dromore High School in the next round. Watch this space for more details!
