On the 11 November the Chamber Choir recorded their CD entry at Belmont Presbyterian Church. The choir recorded two pieces My Song is Love Unknown, a traditional hymn arranged specially for the choir by composer and arranger Jonathan Rea and Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho, a traditional spiritual arranged by Susan Brown.
At the beginning of December the choir were informed that they had been chosen from hundreds of school choirs around the UK to compete in the televised semi-final. Six choirs will perform their traditional hymn, after which the judges will choose three choirs to progress to the final.
Being chosen for this stage in such a prestigious competition is an excellent achievement and we are very proud of the girls and all their hard work.
The choir will travel to The Albert Hall in Nottingham for the recording of the programme on 15 March, which will be broadcast in April.
We all eagerly look forward to the semi-final in March and send our very best wishes to the choir members on this exciting occasion.
