Cross Country is an excellent way to get and stay fit and it serves as tremendous preparation for the athletics season in the summer term. The club is open to all interested pupils in Forms 1 – U6 and caters for different levels of ability. Cross Country takes places on a Thursday afternoon and is taken by Miss Alexander. The teams include Mini, Minor, Junior, Intermediate and Senior athletes. The main cross country events are the Co Down District Championships which lead to qualification for the Ulster Championships and subsequently to the Irish Championships. Strathearn has an enviable record in all these competitions and remain at the forefront of schools’ cross country.forefront of schools’ cross country.
