Sixth Form Merit Awards 2017

Sixth Form Merit Awards 2017

On Friday 8 September, 43 of our sixth form girls were recognised with School Merit badges at the Annual Merit Award Ceremony.

In Strathearn, the School Positive Behaviour Policy states that ‘those who make a significant and special contribution to the ethos and life of the School’ should have their behaviour recognised in the award of school Merits.  Each year, in the annual Merit Award Ceremony, pupils may be awarded gold, silver or bronze badges to acknowledge conduct which is above and beyond the standard that could be reasonably expected of them.  The girls who were recognised this year have shown that they were prepared to ‘go the extra mile’, for example in helping other pupils or staff, or through their exemplary commitment to School clubs, societies, or teams.  Demonstrating determination to cope with specific challenge or adversity is also acknowledged in the award of merit badges.

In total, 16 girls in U6 and 27 girls in L6 received awards, 12 of these being gold badges.  Congratulations to all the pupils who received awards.
