On Saturday, 9 Strathearn girls competed in the annual Inter Schools’ Showjumping competition at Balmoral Park in Lisburn. We entered a Novice team, an Open team and 3 individuals all jumping different heights of fences.
It is a well-attended and highly competitive event where the Novice Team of Felicity Johnston, Charlotte Kerrs, Katie Smith and Molly Cahoon were unfortunate to miss the jump off with a total of 4 faults. The Open Team of Charlotte DeMontmorency-Wright, Fionn Clarke, Orla Cummings and Freya Axten did make it to the exciting jump off stage and finished a very commendable 2nd place overall. Zoe Martin competed in the Novice Individual competition and finished 6th and Fionn Clarke also competed in the Open Individual competition and finished 4th overall.
These are super results and the girls were great ambassadors for the school not only while jumping but as we all know here in Strathearn we like to dress to impress and even while on horseback these girls didn’t fail to keep up appearances with the Novice team bringing home the ‘Tack and Turn-out’ trophy for the 3rd successive year.
Well done to all who took part!
